Westport Camping Trip Highlights

We just got back home last night from camping. Lot's of fun! Really tired. :) Here are a few quick highlights of our trip...

Sightseeing in downtown Westport. Lot's of fun shops and eats!

Enjoying the campfire.

Lot's of wildlife. We saw deer, sea otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, a number of birds and more.

Watching them weigh salmon for the fishing derby. The winner was 39Lbs!

Waiting on the docks for Papa's boat to come in. Here he comes...

Papa on the boat packing up his fish.

Papa caught 2 salmon and 10 cod. That was the limit. You'll have to hear his story about the one that got away and broke his 20 pound line; and of course the sharks...

The beach! This was Mom's favorite. Miles of sand. Big waves. The fresh air. Love it!

Megan loved the beach too. She will tell you her favorite part of the trip was chasing waves.

Sleeping in the van "tent".

Here's Elsie in my bed. She slept behind the backseat in the little playpen area we set up for her. It worked great!

Megan and Katie still asleep. It's 6am. Rise and Shine sleepy heads! :)

Picking huckleberries. The branches were loaded.

And there was so much more... Hiking trails, catching frogs, riding bikes around the campground, dodging pirates (really)... I'll have to post more later. :)

Swimming at the Lake

We usually spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer. This year we have only been TWICE! It was a great day at the lake with friends. The weather was beautiful, the kids had fun, and the moms had a chance to chat. All around a good time!

Here's Katie looking cute! One great thing about this lake is that the water is shallow all the way out to the dock and my girls can still touch the bottom. But, it is a loooong way out and no way could I run through the water fast enough to save them. So, our rule is if they don't want to stick close to the beach they have to wear a life jacket. It makes Mom worry less and that means a better time for everyone!

Sweet Elsie practicing her walking. She's almost there!

Some of the boys working on sandcastles.

Meggy Moo. We could not find her bathing suit this morning so we grabbed this polyester gymnastics outfit. It actually worked great and was nice and modest. We may just use it again.

Our sweet little friend had a fun time playing "mom" with Elsie.

We made a little bed for Elsie in the wagon. Sleeping babies are so sweet. :)

Emma and her friend. Such a fun day!
