We measured almost 10 inches this morning! And it's been snowing all day. It's about 3pm now, and it stopped a little while ago.

There was a bit of sadness this morning as we mourned the loss of our favorite tree. It actually belongs to our neighbor behind us. But the beautiful maple offers shade to the girls' swing set in the Summer, and gives them the chance to rake leaves and make a pile to jump on in the Fall. Plus it offers a bit of privacy from the house directly behind us.
This is what it looked like yesterday...

And today it's branches are all broken down from the weight of the snow. :( So sad...

Last night Seth was stranded in Seattle for 2 1/2 hours waiting for a bus home. Thankfully tonight he is able to catch a ride from a co-worker back into Marysville. When he got home late last night (just as I was getting ready to tuck the girls in bed) he got stuck in our driveway and had to shovel himself out.

Emma had a great idea to surprise Daddy and shovel the driveway today so he could safely park at home. The snow was too heavy for the girls to shovel so Mommy did it. It was actually fun, and great exercise!

While I was at it I decided to pile my snow in a little mountain so the girls could have a snow slide. They were excitedly watching out the window while it was being constructed.

The girls have been keeping warm inside today. They've only played outside once so far. They invented a new game they call "Matching Game Books". One person chooses cards from their matching game set and arranges them in the tray. Then they take turns making up a story using the matching game cards as the pictures for their "book".

I hope you all are staying warm and enjoying the beautiful snow!
