Pumpkins

These pumpkins came from Papa's garden. The girls had fun with them. Elsie loved taking the lid off and peering inside and then putting it back on again. She did this over and over. I kept meaning to hide something in there for her to find.

Reflecting God's Light

Ephesians 5:8-20
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),
10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
14 Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light."
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18 And do not be drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

Emma's Camera

There's a new photographer in the house. Emma got a camera for her 8th birthday. She is in heaven.
While I am happy for her and her new found hobby, it is a bit like living with the paparazzi.
She has had her camera now for less than 2 months and has taken well over 2,ooo pictures!
We now have photos of nearly every object in our house and yard. The lamp, the fence, the arm of the couch, toys, nothing is off limits.
Sisters are handling it well most days, and Mom is trying to ignore the constant clicks and flashes.

It is interesting to see life from the perspective of an 8 year old with a camera. She has taken many great photos and I have no doubt that she will grow into her hobby and benefit the family with precious memories that otherwise might have been missed.

I love taking pictures but it's hard to find the time to capture those everyday things. It takes some of the pressure off knowing there's another photographer in the house who loves picutres as much as I do.
Carry on Emma, carry on.

Blog Slacker

Yes. That is what I have been. It's so much easier to read everyone else's wonderful blogs. :) I'm going to try to do some catching up!
