Thanksgiving Part 1

I'm trying out a mobile blogging app since I haven't been on my computer much at all since getting my iPhone, and my poor blog has been neglected.

I wanted to share some pictures of Thanksgiving day. The girls were happy to go to Grandma Sue's for dinner. We brought praline yams, and rice, and stuffing. Grandma baked the turkey, Aunt Sandy brought the potatoes and rolls, Sozanne brought some snacks the men enjoyed while waiting for the meal, and some veggies- the garlic sautéed carrots were delicious! Everyone brought desserts to share, and there was much more food I know I am forgetting! Everything was wonderful.

The girls were happy to see their cousins, and we all had a nice time visiting!

Christmas Crop

Last Saturday we had a 12 hour Christmas crop, and it was so much fun! I really wanted to get my December daily album all pre-made and ready to go before December. I was able to do about half of it. Brenda finished her whole album, and I'm pretty sure Felicia did too. Those girls are quick! Hopefully they will post pics of their pages on their blogs so we can see. ;) Deborah worked on some digital scrapbooking and Michelle worked on the stocking she is making for her son. You can see some of her beautiful work here. I was kicking myself for forgetting to take pictures until we were wrapping up, but here are a few I did get. :)

And here are some of the pages I did...

We want to plan another craft day soon. Let me know if you would like to join us, and I'll make sure to let you know when and where. :)

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Another super simple 3 ingredient recipe I found on Pinterest. Emma whipped these up in no time! They are moist and yummy and taste like pumpkin pie. We've tried them using the yellow cake mix too, and they taste more like cupcakes with just a hint of pumpkin flavor. Next, I want to try using a chocolate cake mix. Double chocolate chip pumpkin muffins? Yes, please! :)

Gratitude Journals

The girls and I are working on gratitude journals for the month of November. Our goal is to think of one thing we are thankful for each day and write it in our journals. I'll try to post pictures once a week showing some of our pages.

Today I will show you the body of our journals. For mine I took 8 pieces of 2-sided scrapbook paper each cut to 6x9 inches. Using my sewing machine I stitched down the center of the stacked papers then folded the journal in half. Next I trimmed the edge of the pages using border punches and scissors to create a layered look.

For the girls' journals we kept it simple. We stitched down the center of 8 pieces of construction paper in assorted Fall colors.

The girls took turns sewing their journal together.

Elsie needed a little help reaching the foot pedal. Our Rainbow Resources catalog and Peanuts collection came in handy.

Have a blessed November!
