Our family doesn't celebrate Halloween, but we also don't want to hide in our house with the curtains closed and porch lights off when neighbors come to call. The perfect solution for us is to use this opportunity to pass out tracts.
About a month before Halloween we ordered tracts online from the American Tract Society. The girls taped a piece of candy to each one.
We had our big bowl of candy and tracts ready and waiting by the door for our first trick or treaters.
Seth and Emma had BSF, but the rest of the girls and I enjoyed passing out the tracts. They were mostly well received, though we did have one boy refuse to take it. He tore the tract off the candy and put it back in the bowl. The girls and I talked earlier about the fact that some people might not welcome them and that was okay. If only one person kept the tract and read it that would make it worth it. :)
We we were able to pass out about 40 tracts! Before bedtime we prayed that God would use them to draw someone to Him. :)
